Ledge, Stone and Boulder

Vermont is famous for the beautiful ledge, which can enhance the beauty of your property when exposed.   Ledge can also provide challenges when preparing sub grades for foundations.   We have the right skills, know how and equipment to make the most of Vermont's ledge in your environment.

Foundations, Footers, Slabs

Frost heave is an upwards swelling of soil during freezing conditions caused by an increasing presence of ice as it grows towards the surface, upwards from the depth in the soil where freezing temperatures have penetrated into the soil.  Building in Vermont requires careful attention to sub-grade preparation,  where the right choice of materials, material depth, footer design, insulation and drainage are key to a foundation that can withstand the Vermont freeze cycles.

Materials and Trucking

Site preparation often requires removal of undesirable soil which is replaced with materials that provide a stronger basis for your building.  Expenses for transporting materials to and from and job site can add up together with the cost of new material quickly.   We plan and optimize logistics simultaneously across jobs to minimize these expenses.   We also use our in depth local knowledge of active projects to find the best quality and least expensive source for materials needed throughout the site preparation process.   We pass along these savings to you.   Our clients frequently tell us that our pricing is a fraction of quotes they received from other companies.
